What
is Viking Seal tyre repair sealant?
Viking Seal is a chemical product
that when installed inside a tyre, will provide full time protection against
air loss for the legal life of the tyre as well as extend the life of the
tyre.
How does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant work?
Viking Seal is drawn to the area
of the escaping air. As the tyre rotates and strikes the surface of the
road, the hole is stretched open and the polyethylene chips and other
fibers enter the cavity. The fibers wrap around the polyethylene chips
and form a plug, similar to the action of a beaver dam. Click

How does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant prevent
rim and bead leaks?
The escape of high pressure air
from the tyre into the atmosphere draws fibers and particles to the area
of the escaping air. The leak is thus located and sealed.
What is the shelf life of Viking Seal tyre repair sealant?
The shelf life of Viking Seal is
practically indefinite as long as the container is closed and no evaporation
occurs.
Does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant react chemically
with the rubber tyre?
Not at all. Viking Seal is chemically
inert.
Is Viking Seal tyre repair sealant affected
by extreme temperatures?
Viking Seal has been tested to -35
deg. F. (maximum testing ability of laboratory) and has not frozen. This
is 67 deg. below the freezing point of water. Furthermore, the tyre sealant
remains in a stable condition in heat so extreme, the tyre itself will
disintegrate.
Will Viking Seal tyre repair sealant rust the
rim of the tyre?
Not at all. Viking Seal contains
anticorrosive agents to prevent corrosion from occurring as well as to
deal with any corrosion on the tyre prior to installation.
Does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant run to
the bottom of the tyre when the tyre is not in motion?
No! Viking Seal contains specially
selected compounds which prevent this from happening. The sealant remains
in place covering the interior of the tread at all times.
Can Viking Seal tyre repair sealant be used
in a tube tyre?
Yes. However, it is vital to remove
the penetrating object. Failure to do so will result in the object flexing
in the tyre and shredding the tube until it is destroyed. Although we
can't guarantee the sealant to always permanently seal a puncture due
to the condition of the tube, we do guarantee that as long as the tyre
is in motion, you will reach your destination, and then, should some damage
have occurred to the tube, it may lose air.
Will Viking Seal seal tyre sealant a
puncture in the sidewalls of the tyre?
No. There is too much flexing in
the sidewalls and a temporary plug would be a safety factor.
Will Viking Seal tyre repair sealant dry out
in the tyre?
No! Viking Seal will always stay
in the same condition as it was when it was inserted into the tyre because
the tyre is a closed container and no evaporation of the liquid can occur.
Who are some of the users of Viking Seal tyre repair sealant?
Users are many and varied. They
include: construction companies, police forces, municipalities, golf courses,
pallet manufacturers, truck fleets, airports, quarries, industry, utilities,
RV manufacturers, new car dealers, used car dealers and more.
Is Viking Seal tyre repair sealant covered by
product liability insurance?
Yes, we have product liability insurance.
What tools do I need to install Viking Seal tyre repair sealant?
The tools needed are:
Valve core remover (included with certain sized bottles)
tyre pressure gauge
Source of air
What is the difference between Viking Seal tyre repair sealant and other similar products?
Other liquid sealants are either
paste, solvent, gel or water-based, which consequently dry out at low
temperatures. Many of the liquid tyre sealants congeal, which can cause
balancing problems and alteration of the rubber composition. That, in
turn, shortens the life of the tyre.
Viking Seal is Glycol based and will not break down or dry up inside the
tyre. Viking Seal, if properly installed, will not affect tyre balance.
What is the difference between Viking Seal tyre repair sealant and other products sold in aerosol cans?
Aerosol products treat tyres only
after a puncture has occurred. Even then, they offer no more than a temporary
seal. The tyre will still have to be taken to a repair shop, where it
will be broken down, the seal removed, the puncture patched and the tyre
remounted, all at the customer's expense. (The average cost for this service
is £15 or more.) If the flat tyre resulted in damage to the rim
or sidewalls, the costs will be even higher. In respect to safety hazard,
aerosol products are usually highly flammable. Viking Seal is a preventative
installed before the fact, and is non-flammable.
Is Viking Seal tyre repair sealant hazardous?
No. Viking Seal is environmentally
friendly, non-hazardous, and non-flammable. In the U.S., it even meets
the requirements of the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement
Act of 1986!
How does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant affect
the Manufacturer's Warranty?
Viking Seal exceeds the tyre Manufacturer's
Warranty by committing to a full reimbursement to the tyre user who, after
using Viking Seal, experiences a puncture. Viking Seal will not affect
the tyre Manufacturer's Warranty.
What is the effect of Viking Seal tyre repair sealant on the tyres?
Viking Seal extends the life of
the tyre. Being a Glycol based product, it protects the tyre from excessive
heat, prevents porosity, dry rot, and bead and rim leaks.
How do you install Viking Seal tyre repair sealant
and how long does it take?
Viking Seal tyre life extender is
installed quickly and easily through the valve stem (average installation
time is just minutes per tyre).
Does Viking Seal tyre repair sealant extend
the life of the tyre? In what way and why? How does it perform?
After application, Viking Seal remains
liquid for the life of the tyre and rim installation. As the tyre rotates,
centrifugal force spreads the solution evenly over the tread area of the
tyre. When any puncture occurs, thousands of interlocking fibers seal
the opening and prevent any loss of air. This process is repeated each
time a puncture occurs.
Can Viking Seal tyre repair sealant be used
in new tyres or only in used tyres?
Both. However if the tyres are used,
you should add approximately one more ounce of Viking Seal than the chart
indicates. Due to open pores of the used tyre, some of the Viking Seal
will be absorbed into the tyre.
How many punctures will a measured dose
seal?
This cannot be predetermined as
size of opening, air pressure, tyre surface area and where the puncture
occurs in relation to rotation will vary the results.
Can Viking Seal tyre repair sealant be removed
from the tyre?
Yes. Have tyre and rim separated
and simply wash out tyre with water.
